Resumo / Abstract 

O projecto financiado pela Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) “Performance e Teatro no PREC” (2023.10644.25ABR DOI https://doi.org/10.54499/2023.10644.25ABR) visa recuperar a memória do teatro, o que se fez e como se fez, o que se pensou, escreveu, legislou e programou durante o Processo Revolucionário em Curso (PREC). Cinquenta anos depois do 25 de Abril de 1974, o estado lacunar e disperso da investigação sobre o tema justifica uma reflexão detalhada sobre este período. Importa, assim, mapear os acontecimentos, recolher a documentação dispersa e entrevistar os agentes, de modo a estudar, disponibilizar e promover novas leituras que interessem ao presente. Procurando responder à pergunta “Como terão a performance e o teatro contribuído para a construção da democracia durante o PREC?”, o projecto propõe-se a:

(i) sistematizar os dados recolhidos em arquivos e periódicos;

(ii) realizar um conjunto de entrevistas aos intervenientes no sistema teatral português daquele período;

(iii) disponibilizar os materiais desenvolvidos no âmbito do projecto num arquivo digital de acesso aberto;

(iv) assegurar uma unidade curricular de 2o ciclo de ensino superior sobre Teatro: democracia e revolução, na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa;

(v) publicar um volume de ensaios com os resultados da investigação produzida no decurso do projecto.

The Foundation for Science and Technology FCT-funded project ‘Performance and Theatre during the Portuguese Ongoing Revolutionary Process (PREC)’ (FCT 2023.10644.25ABR DOI https://doi.org/10.54499/2023.10644.25ABR) aims to uncover the memory of performing arts - what was produced and how, what was thought, written, legislated and programmed - during the Portuguese Revolution. Fifty years after 25 April 1974, the scant and dispersed state of research on the subject justifies this endeavour. It is necessary to map the events, collect the documentation and interview those who participated in the theatrical scene of this time, in order to study, make available and promote new readings that are of interest to the present. In an attempt to answer the question ‘How did performance and theatre contribute to building democracy during PREC?’, the project aims to:

(i) systematise the data collected in archives and newspapers;

(ii) conduct a series of interviews with those involved in the Portuguese theatre system during the ongoing revolutionary process;

(iii) make the materials developed as part of the project available in an open access archive;

(iv) teach a postgraduate course on Theatre: Democracy and Revolution, at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon;

(v) publish a volume of essays with the results of the research produced during the project.
